What really happened to Kris Kremer and Lisanne Froon?

In March of 2014 the two Dutch girls went on a trip to Panama to reward themselves for graduating. On April 1st, they vanished. Two months later their remains were found. 33 bones scattered around and one whole foot still in it’s shoe, they were found around the river bank were there was found a backpack and clothing before.
Now, many people have different theories about what happened to these girls. In the beginning, before the remains were found, Dutch television spoke of a possible kidnapping by locals. After the remains were found everyone immediately thought the girls were murdered. The thing is, there was little to no evidence of a third possible person (murderer). And if so, all their money and valuables were untouched.

In April of 2014, college graduate Lisanne Froon and her roommate Kris Kremers took a six week trip to Panama as a congratulatory vacation for a freshly graduated Lisanne. The plan for the trip was to volunteer with children and learn Spanish.
- Dutch tourists Kris Kremers and Lisanne Froon went missing two weeks after they arrived in Panama to study Spanish. These young women mysteriously disappeared while taking a day hike near the town of Boquete on April 1, 2014. Froon, 22, and Kremers, 21, were last seen on April 2.
Friends Kris Kremers (born August 9th, 1992) and Lisanne Froon (born September 24th, 1991) were two Dutch tourists who went missing under mysterious circumstances in early April of 2014 while on vacation in Panama, allegedly disappearing during a hike on the Pianista trail near Boquete.
On the first day of April the two girls went out for a few hours hike, they had only packed for a few hours. When they hit the point and the end of the safe route, they made a few happy, smiling pictures. But they didn’t return afterwards. What might have happened is that the two girl went into the wild, maybe they were looking for something more exciting.
Sadly, it was also raining. So everywhere was just mud and creeks, the mud could easily reach up to their knees. Following the path, they came to a point where they had to use a cable britch. Here it might have all gone wrong. It is believed that Kris had fallen of the bridge and that she broke a few bones so she couldn’t move and further. The foot that was found was later examined and it indeed shows that she must’ve fallen of a high distance.
But why didn’t Lisanne go on? Why did she stay with her friend? She probably didn’t know the way back, and go and find help. She did go a back for a few meters to put a pair of clean trousers on a big rock. She might’ve done this for possible rescuers.
So they stayed together. They had tried multiple times to reach 112 (Dutch alarm number) and 911, but they couldn’t get through. They might have later thought about going up a bit higher for more connection, but that thought was too late.
On day 7, between 1 o'clock, ‘till 4 in the morning, around a 90 pictures were taken. There were only a 100 pictures on the camera, the first showing their happy vacation, the last 90 showing their location. Dark, raining and pictures that go up and down. They probably tried to attract help with the camera’s flash, but the rain won’t let the light go through. One picture shows the bloody temple of Kris and another one show some of her hair. They make no pictures of themselves, only the surrounding.
Lisanne survived for at least 7 days. At this time she was starving. Kris is thought to have died after 6 days. Both girls were intelligent and fought hard, which is shown by how long they survived in these circumstances.
Their bones were found, Kris’s were bleached clean and Lisanne’s had a bit of skin to it still. This is is explained by the animals that could’ve feed on them or the jungle itself with it’s rainy condition.
This is a very likely scenario that might’ve happened. Many investigators came to this conclusion but it’s still a mysterious and almost unsolved case. The remains are found, but many of the bigger bones are gone and we will never truly know what happened. We can only speculate.

A picture is worth a thousand words – from happy memories to terrifying ordeals. Some photos are taken on purpose like a photojournalist telling the story of those affected by a war-torn country. Other photos are taken without the intention of telling any story at all; they capture a moment because they are at the right place at the right time or wrong place at the right time in some cases.
Our entire lives can be recreated through the power of pictures from our moment entering the world to our first grandchild’s. They also make us remember times we’d like to forget. 12. “Falling Man”
It is believed that more than 200 people lost their lives on 9/11 due to either falling or jumping from the World Trade Center. This photo, known simply as “The Falling Man” is the most well-known.
11. Mysterious Documentation Of Their Death
In April of 2014, Kris Kremers, 21, and Lisanne Froon, 22, were Dutch tourists backpacking through Panama. They hiked near a Baru volcano and were never heard from again. Their remains were found months later, along with photographic evidence that turned out to be quite mysterious and chilling. The photos start out with normal photos of their trip and hike but things take a chilling turn and the final photos show Kremers’ red hair soaked in blood. Their deaths are still a mystery, but local officials say a hiking accident claimed their lives.

10. Vulture Stalks Its Prey

This photo was taken in the Sudan of a vulture stalking a young emaciated boy named Kong Nyong. Thankfully, Kong was rescued and has recovered from the famine.
