Are they Compatible at all?
Before doing anything, we should determine if your graphics driver or your computer can actually support Miracast. Checking this is quite simple:
- Open the Run dialog box by pressing the Windows key and R together.
- Type PowerShell and Enter.
- Type Get-netadapter|Select Name, ndiversion
- Enter this command.
- The return value should be more than 6.30. Otherwise, your Miracast is not compatible.
Following the same process, you can check your graphics card’s compatibility as well. In the dialog box that appears when you open Run, type dxdiag and Enter. This opens the DirectX Diagnostic page. Here, check the driver’s model. It should be WDDM 1.3x or better.
If everything is good, you can follow the fixes mentioned after this. If not, you will need to change your graphics card.
Check the Wi-Fi
Miracast uses Wi-Fi. This makes it very easy to use, but only when all devices are using the same network.
